This month in our team meeting it was my turn to do the demonstration and the techniques and ideas all featured embossing folders. I featured the embossing techniques on page 128 of the annual catalog and then showed a variety of other techniques that you can do with embossing folders. Now for the Techniques and Ideas used on this card:

First to create my card I started with a piece of household aluminum foil and a piece of cardstock. I glued the aluminum foil directly to the cardstock piece using Liquid glue and let it dry. It really doesn’t matter the color of cardstock as you won’t see it, the cardstock just gives a bit of thickness to the aluminum foil. Next cut your dried aluminum cardstock piece down to your desired size and then place it inside the Metal Plate 3D embossing folder and send it through your Cut & Emboss Machine.

When it comes out of the folder you have this cool faux metal piece of cardstock that can be used with so many stamp sets, like trucks, tractors, motorcycles, or the Trusty Tools stamp set.

After I adhered my faux metal cardstock to my Real Red cardstock base I added the simple sentiment from the Layering Leaves stamp set, this set has lots of great sentiments to have on hand, so if you do not already own this stamp set, you may just want to purchase this one at the 15% off. The die cut piece is from the Autumn Expressions dies and the tools are hand cut from the Trusty Toolbox Designer Series Paper on sale in the clearance rack for $5.00. You can also stamp and color all your tools using the Trusty Tools stamp set.

To finish off the tools I used the Adhesive-Backed Textured Dots for that bronze appearance on the tools and sentiment.
