Today I have a simple stamping technique to show you using the Painted Poppies stamp set. This stamp set has a few different stamps in the set that lead to different stamping techniques.  In the next few days I’ll showcase this stamp set and the different ways to use the images in the set.

You may be thinking the technique I used on this card was using the Blending Brush and you would be partially correct; as I did use it on the Designer Series Paper.   This was a left over card that never got finished.  Do you have a pile like that?  Sometimes I start a card and don’t like the direction it is going and will through it in my pile of odds and ends.

I used the Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper on the front and a little piece on the inside; yes this is last week’s card layout.  I also used my Blending Brush and the Balmy Blue ink to color my white flowers in the paper blue.

That’s part of the stamping techniques on this card the other technique comes into play with the stamped image.   I had someone ask me, “How do you color images that are combined on the stamp, like flowers and leaves”?  I told her there are a few different techniques for multi-coloring a stamped image.  I pulled the Painted Poppies stamp set as it has a few different techniques for coloring multi-image stamps in it.

First up was this image with the row of flowers and how I achieved this look.  It really is a simple technique and one you may have already done before.  I took the E Clear Block and inked it with the Balmy Blue ink and rubbed a piece of Basic White cardstock over the top picking up the ink from the block.  The next step was to stamp the flower image in the center of it using Black Memento ink.   A pretty simple technique that will look differently each time you do it depending on how much ink you get on your clear block and transfer to the cardstock.
