Today we’re celebrating Card Sketch #50 of my free card sketches to inspire your next project.  Today’s sketch is sure to be a fan favorite.

This week’s sketch is all about using up those little itty-bitty pieces we just don’t want to toss. Do you find yourself with leftover designer series paper strips that are 1″ wide and 6″—or even 12″—long? I know I do! This sketch is the perfect way to put them to good use. Simply cut your strips into 1″ x 1″ squares and start creating.

The beauty of this design is how versatile and fun it is. You can mix and match patterns, play with color combinations, or even keep it monochromatic for a more subtle look. No matter your style, this sketch gives you a great foundation to build on.

Tip: Before you start gluing, lay out all your 1″ squares to find a layout you love. Once you’re happy with the arrangement, use liquid glue to adhere them in place—it gives you a little wiggle room to get everything lined up just right.

Card #1 features the Nature Walk Designer Series Paper, which will be part of mySuite of the MonthClass starting May 1, 2026. This gorgeous paper pack is filled with rich, distressed patterns in Pretty Peacock, Early Espresso, Old Olive, Pecan Pie, Secret Sea, Night of Navy, and Blueberry Bushel—all with a subtle hint of nature that adds an organic touch without overpowering your designs.

For this card, I started with a Pretty Peacock card base measuring 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. Next, I added a Basic White layer measuring 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″, followed by a Pretty Peacock layer at 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″.

The focal point of the card is created by adhering the 1″ x 1″ squares from the Nature Walk prints onto a piece of Basic White cardstock measuring 3″ x 4 1/4″. This is where all those little scraps come together to create a beautiful, eye-catching design.

The measurements for both cards are exactly the same—the only difference is how I finished them off and the designer series paper I chose. This is a great way to see just how versatile this sketch can be. You can easily recreate this layout using any papers you already have on hand and get a completely different look every time!

For the inside of the card, I added a piece of Basic White cardstock measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″. Along the bottom edge, I adhered a strip of the designer series paper measuring 3/4″ x 4″ to tie everything together. If you don’t have any coordinating paper left, a simple stamped image is a great alternative and still gives the inside a polished, finished look.

For the sentiment on the front, I used the coordinating Nature’s Symphony Stamp Set. I stamped the sentiment onto Basic White cardstock using Pretty Peacock ink, then die cut it using the Stylish Shapes banner die. To help it stand out, I layered it over a strip of Pretty Peacock cardstock and adhered it to the center of the card front using dimensionals.

To finish it off, I added a few of the Faux Bronze Pentagons—also part of the Nature Walk suite—for just the right amount of texture and shine.

Card #2 features the Lovely Blossoms Designer Series Paper, which is included in this month’s Stamp Camp at Home Card Club Kit. Today is the last day to get this month’s kit! For this card, I used Petal Pink cardstock for the card base, with Secret Sea as the matted layer. The soft florals in the Lovely Blossoms paper give this card a completely different feel, even though it uses the exact same sketch as Card #1.

For the focal point, I used the coordinating Lovely Arrangements Bundle to stamp, die cut, and layer the flower and sentiment. This adds a beautiful, dimensional element to the card front and ties in perfectly with the designer paper.

To finish the card, I added a few of the Moody Palette Glossy Dots for a touch of shine and a polished final look.
