New Stamping Techniques With On The Horizon Bundle

I saw this type of card and thought I have to give that technique a try; so I did. It uses the Stitched Triangles Dies and I used the New Horizons Bundle of products. For my first try and no instructions I think it came out pretty well. It is fun to try different stamping techniques even when you have been stamping as long as I have. I’m always on the lookout for new techniques and ideas.

I used the New Horizons Designer Series paper and the On The Horizon stamp set to create my scene then I used the Stitched Triangles Dies to die cut out my scene. The Sahara Sand background was embossed with the Bark 3D Embossing Folder. I first tried a White background but that was just too white so went with the Sahara Sand.

The Birthday Sentiment is from the Wildlife Wonder stamp set. I stamped it in Blackberry Bliss and the card base is Blackberry Bliss as well. I wanted to bring out that rich color from the New Horizons Designer Series Paper.

Here are some tips that I learned while doing new stamping techniques.

Don’t be afraid to just look at a picture and try it out; you don’t necessarily need instructions to give it a try.
If it doesn’t work the first time try again; each time you try you will learn from your experience. No waste of papers use them on other cards or projects.
Stamp your images first and lay out the triangles butting them up against each other.
Use painters tape so your triangles remain in place when die cutting.
Leave the center triangle in place and move the outside 2 triangles in place; secure with painters tape and die cut.
Pop up the triangles onto your card front or another piece of cardstock like I did.
