This past weekend I decided to create my Life is Sweet June Paper Pumpkin handmade cards. Let me just say that I was very pleased with these cards and how they turned out. They are really pretty in person and came together pretty quick and easy.

The best part is that I created them while enjoying the weekend at the cottage. I love that these card kits are a grab and go type of crafting experience. Everything I need to create the cards is in the little orange box, except for a scissors and a clear block;, which I usually have on hand. If you are in a pinch as to what to take along camping, traveling, or a night away, the Paper Pumpkin kits are the way to go. They don’t take up much space so easily will fit inside a suitcase or carry on. You might be wondering why would you take a craft project on vacation? Well, some people love to read a book, which I do as well, but others enjoy a good crafting session. Maybe it is the feeling of accomplishment when the cards are completed or maybe it is the thought of the smiles that the recipients of the cards will get when they open your handmade cards. A book is good, and I enjoy that, and it might put a smile on my face, but I get the biggest enjoyment out of knowing I’m making someone else’s day with a handmade card.

Each card in this month’s kit has a sentiment die cut out of the pretty glitter paper and then a stamped sentiment to correlate with that sentiment. This month’s stamp set in the kit is all sentiments and no images. This brings something else to mind when I think about the Paper Pumpkin kits. Each kit comes with a stamp set, generally with an image or two and a sentiment or two. These mini stamp sets are great to have on hand and can be used repeatedly. If you are like me, you can’t ever have too many sentiment words or phrases in your stamping collection. I’m always looking for a fun font, phrase or sentiment that will fit different punches or die cuts and when I pull out ALL my past Paper Pumpkin stamp sets; I generally can find exactly what I’m looking for.

Also, when you are a Paper Pumpkin Subscriber with me you will get a PDF file at the end of the month with 8 – 10 card PDF files that you can create with the stamp set that comes in the kit. So, have fun creating the cards in the kit and then you can have more fun creating the cards in the PDF files.

When I saw the different fruits in this kit, I immediately thought of the Mediterranean Blooms Designer Series Paper, because of the citrus fruits in the paper prints. You might be thinking what does lemons have to do with congrats; but I think the card is very pretty and it just works.

Each card also has a bit of linen thread tied up in a bow with a few pearls, which just adds the right finishing touch to these cards, at least I think so.

I really think this final card with the peaches is my favorite of the 3 different cards and layouts. The hello sentiment can be used for so many occasions. Maybe you just want to let someone know you are thinking of them so a little hello card would be perfect for that. Maybe you just made a new friend and want to send them a card to say hello and it was so nice to meet you. There are many reasons why you might want to send a hello card to someone.

Each card in the kit also has a coordinating envelope, so you never have to go searching for an envelope to fit or match your beautiful cards. Every Paper Pumpkin kit will come with enough envelopes for each card in the kit. Now, some month’s the kits may not be cards but gift card holders, boxes, tags or treat boxes; but I generally will know at least a month in advance if it is not going to be cards. When I send out the PDF file to my Paper Pumpkin customers in the email I will give them a heads up to what is coming, so they can put their subscription on hold if they do not want the non-card kits. Every subscriber has the option to put their subscription on hold or cancel at any time.
