Fun Stamping Techniques And Cards For The Men In Your Life

This past weekend I had an ALL Day Retreat with my downline and one of the stamping techniques taught was the scenic sponging technique. I’m a bit of a newbie but, I think my cards turned out okay; actually mailable. hahaha

This session was taught by my downline Sara Hoogendoorn. Sara does some really gorgeous scenic cards with sponges and ink. You can do this technique with the blending brushes as well; it really just comes down to what you are more comfortable using.

First up was the Bear from the Wildlife Wonder stamp set. This is the perfect stamp set for sponging scenes.

The inks used for this whole card was Early Espresso. Sara demonstrated this card in a few different ways but this was my final take. Next time I need to move the “ground” image stamp a bit lower than the bears feet but I’m sure whomever receives this card really won’t know that. I was pleased with my final results on this fairly new technique for me.

I definitely need some practice at this stamping technique but it was really fun to give it a go.

The stamp set used for this card was the Grassy Grove stamp set. Both the Grassy Grove and the Wildlife Wonder stamp sets are perfect for the men in your life. I don’t think you can ever go wrong with nature cards.

The only ink used on this card was the Black Memento ink pad. On this particular card we ripped some copy paper and then sponged the “mountains”. I sponged to high up on my cardstock because my “moon” didn’t fit; but that’s okay it looks to be in the distance this way; at least that’s what I’m telling myself. hahaha.

No sentiment on this card but it could work for so many occasions.
