Today I have the final card in my series of basic embossing techniques for beginners. I’ve been featuring different embossing folders as well as techniques using embossing folders for the last few weeks.  You might be getting sick of all the embossing folder ideas, but you may also be thinking I totally forgot all about that technique.  It is nice to have a variety of ideas when purchasing your stamping products, this makes embossing folders a better value for your money, when you can see all the possibilities that a simple folder can add to your stamping projects.

I find this to be the case with dies, punches, designer paper, and of course embossing folders.  If we see all the potential that these products provide, they become a far better value, then just what they were intended to be used for.

Today’s card has a very simple embossing folder technique to it.  All you do is place a piece of cardstock, in this instance I placed a piece of Pecan Pie cardstock inside the Birchwood 3D Embossing Folder and ran it through my Cut & Emboss Machine.  Once I had it embossed, I simply ran my Cajun Craze and Early Espresso ink pads across the raised side of the cardstock.  This gives that awesome wood grain look and feel to this Christmas card.

Would you consider this basic embossing techniques for beginners or not?  It seems easy enough for me, but I forget I’m not a beginner.

The die cuts used on this card are from the Peaceful Evergreens Bundle.  I stamped the trees onto a piece of the Two Tone Garden Green paper, embossed the trees with the Painted Trees 3D Embossing folder and then lightly sanded over the raised images.  I also, used the coordinating dies from the Peaceful Evergreen Bundle, to die cut the trees.  I also die cut some gold foil to place over the top.

The snow drifts were created by tearing along the top edge of some Basic White cardstock, I did this to two layers.
