Create handmade gifts this holiday season with designer series paper and my One Sheet Wonder technique. I’ll show you how to create this beautiful card portfolio and 5 coordinating cards to give this holiday season or give as a birthday gift the choice is yours.   If you tuned in to my Thursday night’s One Sheet Wonder night on my YouTube channel “The Stamp Camp” last night then you saw how quick and easy this project comes together.

This One Sheet Wonder project uses two 6 X 6 sheets of the Garden Walk Designer Series Paper to make the portfolio and the 5 coordinating cards.  This paper is part of my Stamp Camp At Home Card Club kit for this month.  Club members receive the Project Download Sheet as well as the One Sheet Wonder pattern.  This is just one of the perks of being in my club.    Club members will find the video, pattern and download project sheet in the photo gallery here on my blog.  If you would like to know more about my club and become a club member see this post HERE.

This is the first card in the series and I always like to have a card that matches the cover of my box or in this case portfolio.  The portfolio is designed to hold 4 cards 2 in each pocket with the envelopes, but when I was designing the project I had some extra pieces of designer series paper so I created 5 cards.  So, what you could do is give the portfolio with 4 cards and this is the birthday card that goes along with the gift.  You could make this a birthday gift or give as a Christmas gift and change the sentiment on the cover of the portfolio to be something like a Gift for You or A little something for You, or something like that.

This card was created with the little 1″ X 6″ strip that was then cut to 1″ X 3″.  I call this card an optical illusion as the Garden Walk Designer Series Paper looks like it runs down the whole front of the card but it does not.  The Scalloped Contour die cut piece fits perfectly between the 2 strips of designer paper to give that effect.

This is your basic paper strips card.  To give it a bit more dimension and texture I embossed the Sweet Sorbet background piece using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder.  I also decided to tie in the ribbon from the Portfolio on this card.  You could add a strip of the ribbon around the front under the strips piece and attach the bow over the top; but I decided to just add the bow.

The same was done with this card, I embossed the Sweet Sorbet and added the bow.  The Pearls are from the Blooming Pearls pack but if you don’t have those you could use the Festive Pearls and bring out the silver from the ribbon with the silver pearls.

This was the final card using the leftover pieces from the 6 x 6 piece I cut for the card portfolio.  It gives the same optical illusion that the second card gives you with the two little pieces on the sides and the scalloped contour die covering up the fact that the designer paper does not run across the whole card front.  This time I added the scalloped contour piece vertically instead of horizontally.

I would love to see what you create.  There are so many things you can create and give as a gift without breaking the bank or even having to leave you home.  I think handmade gifts are the best because you have used your talents to make something special for the recipient.   My mom crocheted the tops of towels, dish clothes, pot holders, afghans etc and went to craft shows; when she passed away we had all her unsold items at the funeral home and told everyone to take a towel or something as they left.   Everyone thought that was a fabulous idea and I know they are cherishing her talent as are all my kids.  They each received many crafting items from grandma.
