Hideous Baby Wipe Card from Mystery Party

The baby wipe technique can bring results that you really have never thought to try before. This card started off being a hideous color but after it dried I dug it out of the garbage and created these cards. What do you think? The baby wipe technique can bring results that you really have never thought to try before. This card started off being a hideous color but after it dried I dug it out of the garbage and created the following cards with it.   What do you think?  Hideous?

Everyone’s taste are different so some may find this card still hideous other’s may find it beautiful.  Isn’t that really what art or crafting is all about; expanding our taste and likes and dislikes.

This was done on Wednesday night during the Live Mystery Party.  If you missed the party you can catch the video on my YouTube Channel “The Stamp Camp”.  This technique is the Baby Wipe Technique and oddly enough the colors I used to create this card are Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight.  Crazy, I know.  I threw the paper in the trash because I thought it was hideous; after it dried I dug it out of the trash and saw the beauty in it.

Maybe it is the dark Blackberry Bliss card stock that makes it stand out; I’m not sure.  Maybe it is the Whisper White outline image on the front; not sure.  I am sure that I think it turned out to be a very pretty card.

This was created from the Baby Wipe Swiped card stock and I used the thicker Blossoms in Bloom die.

This is actually the same colors are the first card but I used the Baby Wipe on my stamp and stamped it onto Whisper White Thick card stock.  I felt this looked better on Cherry Cobbler card stock instead of the Blackberry Bliss.  I think with the Baby Wipe Swipe technique you get more blended colors; so possibly a darker blend.

The Pearls were colored with the Cherry Cobbler Dark Blend.

The sentiments on both cards are from the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set.  They were stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with White embossing powder.

I like the one on the BlackBerry bliss better than the one on the white cardstock. It’s not hideous, I like nit.

  2. Donna Little says:

Hi Glenda. I actually think both cards are beautiful. I love the first one on the black berry bliss…it is bold and dramatic 🙂 The more subdue one is also pretty, just very different and as you say, everyone has their preference. I am glad you chose to dig it out and finish it. Thanks for sharing this journey of baby wipes:)

I really love this card, I don’t think it’s hideous at all. Of course I always seem to like the “different” color schemes.
