In Color Birthday Bloom
This was my Mother’s Day card from Dean. If you missed the video yesterday on how he created this card you can view it below:

It has been a while since Dean has stamped and made me a card; he was a little rusty but overall did a great job! I can’t believe he tried out the Wink of Stella pens. He did a great job; however I wouldn’t recommend using them to write inside your cards with. I was also surprised how the new In Colors went so well with the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack.

I had the new In Colors out on my table as I’m gearing up for my In Color Club which will be starting up in June. If you would like the details on the club let me know. I need at least 5 people to hold the In Color Club.

I will have to give Dean the tip that if he is using the Photopolymer stamps that he needs to use them with the Paper Piercing Mat to get a nice even stamped image. He wasn’t getting a nice clean stamped image in the center because the Photopolymer stamps lack the foam backing.

I told him I loved how he could just come up with a card design and layout right on camera; I’ve maybe done it once but had an idea in my head before I started; a TRUE crafter he is!

If you missed the beginning he just landed his first job at a local car restoration/body shop where he hopes to learn the ins and outs of restoration as well as painting and detailing old model cars. He LOVES all the old time music, cars, hair styles, clothes etc. I tell him he has an old soul and he said Yup, I think I was born in the wrong era.

It was so fun to watch the video and then receive the card. Which after receiving the card Dean and I headed out to Starbucks to use the gift card he enclosed. We also had a nice one on one dinner together and visited my Mom who is really ill right now; prayers would greatly be appreciated.

In church the minister told the teenagers if they hadn’t gotten a card for their mom’s for Mother’s Day then when they get home they better make one or at least write a note. Well Dean did both before even being told so he got huge points!

I also got a beautiful letter from my son Neil who’s in bootcamp right now and of course it brought tears to my eyes.

I also received flowers and a card from my daughter and son-in-law. It was a great day!

I appreciate all the comments on the video and encouragement.

    Glenda,
I love when Dean & your husband make a video. They are so funny. And Yes! Dean discovered that the new pink goes perfectly with the Pretty Petals dsp. How cool is that?!

I just adore Dean and his cards. I’ve followed his video making and cards for years. You have such a wonderful son. Congratulations to him on his first job.
