This past week was a difficult week for my family and friends. We all said our goodbyes to our Mother and Friend. We are so happy she is finally at peace and in the arms of God. Saying goodbye is never easy and I think it is the hardest for those left behind.
I was reminded yesterday as I was creating some cards for this week that although my Mother is no longer here with me she is definitely with me in spirit.
I placed an order for the “Faith Journey Prints” and the coordinating “God is Light”, “Through the Storm” and the “Trust The Lord” stamp sets when I saw them on the April Special at 35% off. They had been on my wish list but I never seemed to get them ordered.
When my ordered arrived we were in the midst of hospice and everything going on so I told my son Dean to bring the box down to my stamp room; I would open it later.
Well yesterday was that day. Wow, when I opened up my stamp sets and read each one I was so GLAD I ordered all three of these stamp sets! Each set has a special meaning to me now more than ever. I knew right away I had to create some cards with these stamp sets and the coordinating “Faith Journey Prints”.
I have to tell you when our Pastor was visiting my Mom in hospice he asked her what her favorite Bible verse was and she said; John 11:35 “Jesus Wept” only because it was the shortest verse; going to a Christian School we had to memorize Bible Verses all the time so the shorter the better. Hahaha! She then said her favorite was Psalm 23 “The Lord is My Shepard”. We all had to memorize this Bible verse and I remember helping my kids to memorize it and it is my favorite and most remembered verse as well.
When I opened up the “Faith Journey Prints” and was looking at these gorgeous prints the last print in the package was this:
Psalm 23 “The Lord is My Shepard”. It brought tears to my eyes as this was my Mother’s favorite verse and I knew she was with me. I hadn’t paid much attention to this printed package in the catalog I just knew it coordinated with the stamp sets.
I wish I had opened up this package before the funeral as this print is so beautiful I would have framed it and had it out during the visitation. It is now going in a photo album all about Mom and Grandma.
I also had to create a card using this print and the “God is Light” stamp set.
I’m so in love with this paper pack and these stamp sets and I know my Mom was with me as she helped me to crank out quite a few cards yesterday. You will be seeing them all this week.
Who would have thought a stamp set and some printed papers could lift me up so much!

Update on my Mother – I’ve been receiving a few emails asking how my Mother is doing. If you have been following my blog for the last 8 years or so then you may recall that my Mom has been on dialysis for about the past 8 years. Recently she had to have her foot amputated and it didn’t heal so the next step was her leg and then they also said the other one as well. She had been in so much pain and dialysis wasn’t going very well for her so she made the decision to quit dialysis last Thursday. She passed yesterday morning peacefully in her sleep to go to her home in heaven. We all had a chance to say our goodbyes which was a blessing. We are all thankful she is no longer in any pain and is at peace at last.
Here’s one of the many memories I have of my Mom.
My Mom and Dad would always come to my home for Thanksgiving and after our meal my Mom enjoyed making cards with me. She was always sending out cards to people at church for birthday’s or anniversaries. If you knew my Mom you knew you were getting a card.
She was a very special lady and will be missed a TON!
I won’t be posting for a few days while my family and I take some time to grieve and take care of my dad.
Thanks so much for your prayers and support; much appreciated!
Here are some of the salty treats on the candy and cake table.
Ready to Pop! I found the idea on Pinterest and thought it was so cute. I typed it up on my computer printed it out and punched them out. Super quick and easy.
I picked the cake up at Costco; YUMO!
It was a nice shower and they got lots of nice things. The weather couldn’t have been better.
It was a great day! After cleaning up I’m going to try and get some stamping in today with my new toys!

In case you were wondering where I’ve been I thought I would show you.
My husband and I flew to California to watch our middle son Neil graduate from the Marine Corps bootcamp. We also took Neil’s girlfriend Kim with us to watch him graduate.
This was taken on Family Day; which was the day before graduation.
This was also taken on Family Day; it was so nice to see him again after 3 month’s of being gone from home.
There’s my new Marine; so proud and happy he made it through.
He flew home with us Saturday night and will be home for 10 days before he leaves again.
When we arrived home Dean, our son-in-law and a couple of Neil’s friends were waiting for us at the airport with posters and signs.
My son-in-law went into my Stampin’ Up! room and found some Cherry Cobbler cardstock and stapled it to a foam board and then painted his welcome home greeting on it.
So there you have it a new use for Stampin’ Up! cardstock!
I have more pictures of our time in CA on my FaceBook page.
